Lesson3: Writing your Terms of Use and Credit Empty

As all of us know, the terms of use for anything we use should be abided
by! We're all pretty knowledgable with copyrights and how to be
correct. It's the same thing you are doing with your TOU for kits.

You are letting the taggers/users of your products know what they can and can not do with your stuff.

The
biggest things I can tell you is, be detailed if possible. If you allow
freebies to be made with your kits, like cluster frames and quick
pages, mention that. It's important that you cover your bases.

I save my tou as an RTF in each file. I also include the credits in the TOU. HEre's the important part....

In
a lot of my kits I use the cookie posers of Lisa K of sophisticated
imaging. In my credit I make sure to mention that credit MUSt be given
to her if used in a tag. The reason for this is, that is in her TOU. I
also give her name and link. If you use ANY posers like that, meaning
the dolls themselves, make sure you look at the designers TOU and what
they require for credit.
Obviously, it's a given.

Also, keep a list handy of the designers work you used. For example if you used one of my CU items you would put:

I'd like to thank the following designers for the use of their work in my kits:

Wicked Princess Scraps

Now I don't ask that the url be put in there, but you can! Continue the list like I usually do:

Cajoline Scraps
Sekada Designs

and so on....keep a notepad close to you or post its for easy note taking for your credits!

you can look at my TOU here:

http://wickedprincessscraps.blogspot.com/2010/08/wicked-princess-terms-of-use.html

to get an idea. You can take pieces of it and adjust as you like! When you've written your TOU, post it here!
